Training
Overview Of Training
The Lincs2gether project, delivered by a range of support providers, has the overall aim of engaging more small to medium Third Sector organisations in commissioning and tendering. We see that there are three parts to a commissioning cycle, each requiring different skills, knowledge and awareness:
- Defining/Informing – being involved in the consultation and other processes that lead to identifying needs, gaps and the design of relevant services
- Deciding/Shaping – being involved in the decision making structures that decide upon tenders, tender processes and procurement
- Delivery – being ‘procured’ (contracted, funded etc) to deliver public sector services and/or service funded through the public sector ‘purse’
The training delivered through Lincs2gether has the following objectives:
- Building the skills and confidence of Third Sector organisations to engage directly in wider consultation or specifically with their own service provider
- Building the skills and confidence of the boards and staff within the Third Sector to engage with their client group and represent the communities that they serve
- Enabling staff and volunteers to acquire skills relevant to the delivery of risk assessed and health and safety compliant public services
- Supporting Third Sector managers to achieve level 2 and 3 awards in management
